This RED Valentino Floral-print taffeta dress is described as a prom dress. For some of us the prom was eons ago. So does that mean if you don’t have a prom to attend you can’t wear this dress?
I’m sure just because this is described as a prom dress doesn’t mean you can’t wear it to a wedding or a garden party or some such posh event.
It doesn’t look like you necessarily have to be seventeen years old to wear this dress; but maybe it wouldn’t suit women over 35. Then again who gets to decide what women should wear at what age and what they should not? Frankly more older women need to start dressing youthfully and stop helping to feed the idea that after a certain age women should start dressing to hide their bodies.
By all means if you like this dress and can afford the $895 price tag you should buy it and wear it and have fun regardless your age. I do have to admit though that I think sleeveless dresses and above the knee length dresses are often not that flattering on women over a certain age; and a style like this might make an older lady look silly to some; but if you can withstand the ridicule of others then wear what makes you feel good and have fun and tell your critics to sit on something with a jagged edge.
Now for the dress. It is described as a multicolored floral-print lightweight taffeta dress with a gathered waist a pink twill waist trim lined through bodice. It has zip fastening along back and is. 100% polyester with a lining composed of 64% acetate and 36% modal.
This dress has shades of blue orange yellow pink black lavender fuchsia white green. Picking the right color shoes to wear with it could be challenging. Unless you go with black which is always the safest bet.
I am going with a pair of Sergio Rossi Pink/Gold Patent Leather Open Toe Sandals to match the shoes to the pink twill waist trim on the dress.
These are pink patent leather open toe sandals with a gold metallic back. They come with a $1,030 price tag.
To keep this co-ordinated I will accessorize with a Fuchsia Emilio Pucci Accordion Satchel. It is described as being a “colorblocked convertible satchel” polished for day to evening elegance with contemporary hardware and a removable buckled shoulder strap” To make it work with this dress I will not remove the removable buckled strap.
This Fuchsia Emilio Pucci Accordion Satchel comes with a $2″ 440 price tag.
Finally I will finish the look with an EDDIE BORGO Gold-Plated Helix Link Necklace ($575) EDDIE BORGO Gold-Plated Large Lattice Hoop Earrings($350) and an Emilio Pucci Gold-Tone Pucci Cuff ($505).

So what do you think? Would you wear the dress? Would you wear fuchsia patent pink shoes with the dress and accessorize with a fuchsia pink bag? Or would you prefer to keep it safe with black shoes and bag; or maybe experiment with blue yellow orange or lavender?
