MONIQUE LHUILLIER New York Fashion Week SS/15

I have to admit that I have more of an interest in sports than I do in fashion. So today I had to choose to watch the women’s tennis US Open semi final matches over watching any of the earlier Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week shows online. But I did manage to catch the live stream of the Monique Lhuillier show. I watched it courtesy of newyorkfashoinweeklive.com

My notes as I was watching the show

The MONIQUE LHUILLIER show is about to get started. I did not watch any of the other live streams today. I will try to watch this one. It is presently on standby waiting for things to get off to a start.

The same is true today as yesterday. I don’t wish I was in New York taking part in fashion week. It just isn’t my thing; but from a business perspective it would be nice to have a blog that is successful enough that I had the option to send someone to these events on behalf of the blog.
It is interesting to watch the people in the audience as they wait around for the event to begin. You know they really get a kick out of this stuff. They love fashion. They love everything about this world. It excites them and there’s certainly nothing wrong with that.

I am watching the live stream via newyorkfashionweeklive.com. I find these shows interesting. They seem to involve so much work preparing and then ten minutes after they start they are over.

The Clothes

Obviously Monique Lhuillier designs clothes for women who live their lives in high society. I am not a high society girl. I found the pieces lovely to look at but I wouldn’t be able to fit anything into my life. I don’t go anywhere that would necessitate owning such fancy clothes. Many of the gowns reminded me of the stuff princesses wear in fairy tales. I think I understood by the time I was eight that I was not a princess; and certainly by the time I was seventeen I understood that on top of the fact that I was not a princess I was also never going to be treated like a princess by anyone. There weren’t going to be any fancy gowns in my life or fancy affairs at which to wear the fancy gowns.

Overall the items were nice to look at. The models remain impressive for being able to do what they do. I used to want to be a model when I was a teenager. I would never have gotten an opportunity had I tried to pursue modeling. I was too short among other things.
