The dos and don’ts of mixing prints is very simple to me. Do whatever the heck you want. Don’t worry who thinks what about your look. I received a link in my inbox today from Pinterest titled “How to mix and match prints”. I clicked through to a page featuring various examples of people mixing prints. With some of the examples there were comments about how the look doesn’t work. To me if it works for the person wearing it that’s really the only thing that matters.

This would no doubt be considered an example of horrendous print mixing (Yes picture is photoshopped together and model is not real or really wearing the clothes); but if someone somewhere likes this combination–if this is a nice look to someone and they wear it and love it and feel beautiful in it no one should feel the need to gasp and comment that they have no sense of style and that their look is all wrong. Style is subjective and there are no rights or wrongs when it comes to fashion contrary to what anyone else might argue.

Mixing prints – street style

The blazer looks to have been designed to match the shorts although it does have a different print style on the outside from the print on the shorts. The print of the jacket’s lining matches the print of the shorts.
