Animal print bags – how to work them

As hot as animal prints have been some girls are still reluctant to try the trend–if you can really call it a trend. After all animal print has been around in fashion in one way or another for generations. But it used to be that animal print was less popular with the sectors of society who control what gets to become trendy in fashion and what gets to be negatively stereotyped to certain groups. These days the marketable demographic embraces animal print so animal print is hot and fashionable (as long as you incorporate it into your look without going over the top).

How you work animal print bags is obviously going to depend on where you’re going. Where you’re going is going to impact on the style of bag you carry. You’re not going to typically be wearing distressed jeans and carrying your Charlotte Olympia Leopard Pandora box clutch. Although you could, if you wore the right style of shoes.

Introduce Miu Miu’s leopard-printed tote to your collection of carry-alls for a cool yet chic option. Big enough to fit in all of your essentials, the luxe coating of pony hair, neutral colours and leather handles make it a truly luxurious investment. Wear it with the shoulder strap for day or carry it in the crook of your arm for after-work drinks.

You never want to overdo it with animal prints. Some might argue that the animal print shoes take this outfit over the limit given the size of the Miu Miu Leopard-printed pony hair tote. But the shoes work perfectly with the burgundy leather pants and the bag works perfectly with the top. On paper the combination looks okay to me but I appreciate that tastes differ and it might look like a hot mess to someone else. Which brings me to the next point: how you work animal print bags will also depend on your own personal style.

This cute little backpack from DIANE VON FURSTENBERG will make it easy to work animal print into your everyday style. You would have to go out of your way to do something absurd to make this bag look ridiculous with anything. Of course I don’t actually own this bag so I’m just giving my opinion of what I think based on the picture of the bag, which is ridiculous. I know. But this bag just looks to me like you can grab it and throw it over your shoulder or back the same way you do your go-to bag and run out to the grocery store, head off for a day of shopping at the mall, go to the movies, go on a date or whatever.
